Fishing ban in Kaptai Lake extended by 10 days

The three-month fishing ban in Kaptai Lake has been extended by another 10 days to ensure the proper breeding and growth of fish and maintain the lake's ecological balance.\

The decision was taken this morning at a meeting on fishing and fish marketing held at the Rangamati Deputy Commissioner's office.

Fishing will resume after midnight on August 10, while fish landing and marketing will begin on the morning of August 11.

The ban, imposed from April 25, is aimed at ensuring the natural breeding and healthy growth of carp in the lake.
